ENSENADA.- With the purpose of creating awareness and respect towards cyclists, agroup of Ensenada citizens will get on bikes and pedal with no clothes on this upcoming Saturday, June 13th, at Playa Hermosa as part of a movement that will take place simultaneously in different cities around the world.
Even though this is a "protest", there won't be any blocked roads or rowdy people. Riders will hop on their wheels in order to promote road culture in favor of cyclists, who they say are constantly threaten by motor vehicles who ignore bike riders, causing accidents with the excuse that they "didn't see them".
The decision to protest with no clothing is for that same reason, making themselves noticeable and hopefully preventing more accidents. In other words, the initiative was created "with the sole purpose of obtaining more security from authorities and from those who use any type of motor vehicle."
Anyone interested in supporting the cause can attend Playa Hermosa before 11:00 a.m. wearing as little clothing as you can, meaning you can show up half naked, in your underwear, bikini or with body paint. You're also welcome to bring along flashy accessories such as wigs and small costumes. To learn how to arrive to the location, visit Facebook and search Wndr Ensenada or World Naked Bike Ride Ensenada by clicking here.
