Tijuana's Female Prison Held A "Beauty Pageant"

The pageant took place inside the city's prison and it was a total success

TIJUANA.- An unexpected beauty pageant that took place inside Tijuana's Female Prison on Tuesday turned out to be a great success. The inmates of the Social Reintegration Center of La Mesa were able to participate as contestants of 'Miss Inmate 2015' pageant.

This is the pageant's second edition organized by the State's Secretary of Public Security and the State's Prison System, alongside the support of civil organizations, the Women's Institute, some stylist and designers.

This year, the pageant had 17 contestants who walked down the runway showing off costumes from different states of the country. Ages of the contestants were among 18 and 26 years.

The inmates who weren't able to participate served as audience cheering on their friends. In the end, inmate Dulce Aguilar was crowned 'Queen' having as first, second and third runner ups, inmates, Martha González, Vanessa Anaya and Lizette Montoya, respectively. Inmate Jackie Yoan won 'Miss Congeniality' and inmate María de Jesús Gamboa 'Most Glamorous'.
