Mexican President Peña Nieto Welcomed By Protesters In Belgium

Mexicans, Chileans and Europeans yell out 'Murderer!'

BELGIUM.- As an act of solidarity and a gesture of being tired of politics as usual in Mexico, today, many Mexicans, Chileans and Europeans protested against President Enrique Peña Nieto in Brussels, Belgium.

Outraged by the situation their country is going through, activists decided to protest with signs, masks and paddles with anti-Peña drawings in order to give a voice to all the families who have lost a child, sibling or nephew due to the perceived alliance between organized crime and the PRI party government.

Said group, composed by 'Colective Belgians' and 'Mexicans in Belgium', also protested against Michelle Bachelet, Chile's President, taking advantaged of the presence of both presidents in the city, who were attending the second Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC in Spanish).

This movement started in front of the hotel were President Peña was staying along with his staff over the course of 4 days (from June 9 through 12). Previously, it was revealed that these accommodations, which were in the hotel's most exclusive room were approximately $3,170 dlls per night.

Later on, the march moved down to the European Parlament, were the 7th edition of European Union and Mexican Community was taking place, just a day after the UE-CELAC.
