First Ever Adoption By Mexican Gay Couple Finalized

Three other couples, are on a waiting list

SALTILLO, MEXICO.- Today, two women in a same sex marriage were able to adopt a baby girl, a process which was concluded personally by the state of Coahuila's Governor, Ruben Moreira Valdés.

The process took a period of 8 months, a time in which the couple gathered the required profile in order to welcome the child, who has a disability. Yezca Garza Ramirez, attorney for the Boy, Girls and Family Institute, mentioned that adoption between heterosexual and same sex couples, is equal to all.

In the same manner, three other same sex couples are on a adoption waiting list, all of which have a file ready. One family is located in Coahuila, and the other two in Chihuahua and Distrito Federal.
