MEXICO.- Italy might be the place were the first pizza was ever cooked, Mexico quickly adapted this dish putting it's on style to it, where we are able to find a classic 'Mexican pizza' (with jalapeños, chorizo and beans) or even some outstanding variations such as a mole, cochinita pibil, chilaquiles or birria pizza. This is why the Italian Embassy in Mexico has launch a campaign in order to find the best pizza man on Aztec soil.

This will be a contest divided in 3 categories on which Italy's Chamber of Commerce in Mexico will award the Most Creative, Esthetic and Classic pizzas created in the country.

As a reward, the winner will be able to participated in the International Pizza Championship in Italy, a contest that has been running for 24 years.

Although the preliminary contest will take place in Mexico City, any pizza man can participate, they only requirement they need is to send their curriculum to a webpage before August 31st and be select as one of the 30 semifinalist.

Out of the 30, 14 pizza men will be selected and they will publicly compete at the 'Expo Reforma' convention center on October. Anyone interested in participating, should be able to prepare his own dough from scratch, given that the use of frozen dough is forbidden.
