Mass Wedding Takes Places In Playas de Tijuana

270 couples got married at Playas' Pier

On Sunday morning, the City of Tijuana's performed a mass wedding where 270 couples got married at Playas de Tijuana's Pier, with the purpose of obtaining legal certainty as well as the legal benefits this process awards them with.

During the event, Director General, Carlos Mejía López, mentioned that one of the instructions from Mayor Jorge Astiazarán was to strengthen programs that benefit people who wish to comply with their civil registry obligations, which is why he offer free marriage licenses to those who met the requirements according to schedule.

On her behalf, Civil Registry official, María Alicia Barrutia Calderón, explained that they discounts offered help couple give legality to their relationships, having as purpose to create a family that fulfills citizen responsibilities, as stated in their marriage document.
