Pope Francis Pardons Women Who Have Had Abortions

"This year's merciful jubilee will not exclude anyone," he explained

WORLD.- Catholicism has always had a firm position when it comes to abortion, condemning the decision of plenty of women who have once chosen to terminate their pregnancy.

Nevertheless, Pope Francis, the Vatican's maximum representative, believes that women who have had an abortion shouldn't be singled out as they have.

Through a letter directed to Monsignor Rino Fisichella of the Pontifical Council for New Evangelization, the Pope explains that all women deserve the church's pardon, given that "in theirs hearts they bear the scar of their suffered and painful choice."

He also mentioned that God's forgiveness can't be denied when one is truly sorry, which is why he granted that every priest can absolve women, at least during the merciful jubilee celebration, which will take place from December 8th until November 20th, 2016.

"This year's merciful jubilee does not exclude anyone," assured Francis, who is also an advocate for inmate indulgence.
