"Baja Culinary Fest" Expected To Be The Most Important Event In Mexico In 2015

This 5th edition will take place from October 8th through 11th

The "Baja Culinary Fest 2015: Sabor A Campo y Mar" festival is aiming to be the most important event of Mexico.

During a joint press conference with the "Baja Culinary Fest A.C." foundation and authorities from the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT, in Spanish), Undersecretary of State Tourism, Ives Gabriel Lelevier Ramos detailed that the event's 5th edition will take place on October 8th through 11th, featuring workshops, conferences, contests, culinary exhibits and themed dinners.

He added that the event will bring together the best chefs from Baja, Mexico, United States and other parts of the world with the purpose of highlighting natural kindness as well as the products from land and sea that Baja has to offer.

"The region's culinary movement, upon the prestige of chefs, the arrival of formation and educative institutions, the operation of food halls and food trucks, are all part of the culinary wonders that we brag about everywhere and that's exactly what today attracts at least 11% of our visitors," he expressed.

The official pointed out that throughout the year the State Government, through SECTURE has invested nearly 15 million pesos in promoting regional cuisine and giving support to events of this sector, as well as participating in 15 fairs and national and international exhibits.

In this matter, Lelevier Ramos assured that SECTURE will back the activities of "Baja Culinary Fest 2015" in order for it to become the main culinary event in the country.

"Currently this festival is already considered as renown and prestigious in the Northern parts of the country and with this edition we seek to broaden horizons and make even noise, to establish it as the number one event nationwide; we have the means to do it and we are on it."

On his behalf, Javier Gonzales, President of "Baja Culinary Fest A.C." explained that during the festival several modules will be placed in CECUT forecourt to show restaurant creations, vineyard and craft beer of the region, as well as from the states of Veracruz and Napa Valley, which are guests this year.

The festival is designed for food lovers, public in general and students seeking to know more about Baja, their products, cuisine and culinary movement in the region.

"This is a unique opportunity to be up and close with major talents, get along with the best chefs in the world, see their recipes, share their experiences and soak our feet in this fascinating world of Baja's cooking."
