Baja Seafood Expo 2015 Begins Tomorrow In Ensenada

Starting at 11:00 am

TIJUANA.- Sport fishing and aquaculture is one of the many activities that contribute to the arrival of tourists in the region, making the State's Secretary of Tourism (SECTURE) join the promotion activities of the Baja Sea Food Expo's eight edition.

During a press conference, SECTURE's Representative in Ensenada, Hector Guillermo Rosas Rodea pointed out that this dependency prioritizes this type of event's promotion and diffusion, given that they set regional destination on local, national and international grounds attracting a higher tourist influx.

He also pointed out that tourist indicators continue to raise, setting as example hotel vacancies which just last month increased between 4 to 6% in comparison to last year; this way, in comparison to the 59% registered on August 2014, there was a 64% influx that hadn't been registered since 2007.

In that matter, Rosas Rodea underlined that regarding Baja Seafood's last edition there was a 75% hotel vacancy throughout the event's duration, which is why they expect a registry of at least 80% for 2015, taking into account that they will have the participation of the United States, Canada and Asia's fishing sector, joining their traditional Rosarito-Ensenada Bike Ride which will be part of this year's commemorative activities for World Tourism Day.

On her behalf, Celina Dominguez Garcia, president of Baja Seafood Expo A.C. Patronage, mentioned that this event is free of charge and it will take place from September 25th to 27th on Museo Caracol's forecourt in Ensenada's port.
