The best Uber driver of all Latin America is in Tijuana

Francisco Aguilar gets the title according to the app's evaluations.

In Tijuana the Uber drivers work day and night to move thousands of users through the city's streets, taking them to their destination in a cheap, convenient and safe way. However, there are drivers who offer an over the top service – a service worthy of more than a 5 star rating.

"We are proud that our driver Francisco Aguilar, has received the 6th Star Award. This award is given to those drivers who's performance and service goes further than expected, at a worldwide level. Francisco, a Tijuana-based driver, got the most trips with the highest rating in Latin America", said Uber in a statement about the achievement.

As a gesture of appreciation, Uber has given Francisco a reward package that included $1,000 USD, a personal letter by CEO Travis Kalanick, as well as a nice baseball cap and a thermo for his coffee. However; for Francisco, this award is not only for him, but for the whole city.

"This achievement is for everyone, not just mine. It's a milestone that belongs to all of the people of Tijuana."

Francisco started on September of last year as a driver, and after a few months, he decided to invest in his own vehicle. With the money he received, Francisco hopes to recover the investment he made a few months ago and invest the rest on his own vehicle.

Users know Francisco as a kind driver but overall a joker.

"I always try to look for the nice side of life. I love to tell good stories to my users. If they hop in all stressed out, they get out stress-relieved."

More than anything, Francisco seeks that every trip is unique and more than what the user was expecting.

"I'm always looking to give the user more than what is expected. I sometimes offer them juice instead of water for example and people get surprised and ask" 'What is this?'"
