It was more than 25% compared to last year's restaurant industry earnings, while the dollar-peso exchange rate pushed tourism even further towards other Baja tourist destinations, including Tecate's Wine Route, which is becoming a perfect romantic and retreat getaway destination, according to the CANIRAC.

"Tijuana's occupancy rate was at 100%, while Tecate had a 75% rate, that, without a doubt, represents an important growth which not only maintained itself compared to last year but had an increase, it's worth mentioning that this weekend will be an important benchmark for the rest of the year's holidays and projects that we as a Chamber will undertake", said Badiola Montaño, head of the institution.
