Baja California participated in the XIV National Tourism Forum "Tourism Investment and Financing Seminar", with the goal of getting into the latest tourism industry trends as well as to seek the backing of projects that the state will benefit from.

Baja's Secretary of Tourism head, Óscar Escobedo Carignan, said that these forums are to present initiatives to diversify the hotel offer in the country and elevate the quality of services, as well as boosting investments in accommodation, time shares and complementary services.

Mexico has remained as one of the main tourist destinations among international travelers, positioning itself on the 10th position on international visits, which gives us a glimpse of great development and growth potential on this industry sector.

This forum gathers the main players within the tourism industry and private sector, where they'll address multiple subjects like: Tourism for Everyone, Medical Tourism, Casinos, Retirement Communities, Millennials, Digital Promotion, Shared Economies, Emerging Markets: Hispanics; multiple destinations, tourism competitiveness, business tourism, investment and financing, among others.

This forum has 15 different workshop sessions, more than 80 exhibitors and at least three thousand attendees, with these numbers, the XIV National Tourism Forum is expected to have a record attendance this year, as well as presenters, the media and specialized planning and development tourism agencies.

"Baja California will benefit greatly from participating on this event, we'll be looking to have a national presence and knowledge on the latest tourism industry trends", said the state official.

Lastly, Escobedo Carignan noted that one of the main objectives that Baja California has while participating on this forum is set an agenda in order to get familiarized with the tourism development plans on the long term for the 2016-2018 period, for the purpose of increasing the quality and tourist attractions so that new investment and business options can be offered to national and international investors.
