TIJUANA A study from this past November stated that the Tijuana Beach was in pretty bad shape regarding environmental issues and the current situation seems to be pretty much the same as last year.
Playas de Tijuana ranks number 1 again as the most visited beach by tourists who should stay away from the water, this is because its bacteria levels are over the amount limit which could have great health dangers.
These bacteria, found in fecal matter, are the causers of multiple respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.
The waters tested by the Federal Protection Committee Against Health Risks (Cofepris), resulted in an average of 193 of a 200 NMP/100 ml limit established by the WHO.
However, the head of Cofepris, informed that most of the Baja waters are in good conditions for fishing and recreational activities during this Spring Break.
