TIJUANA – The fifth edition Tijuana Craft Beer Expo is just a few weeks away from happening and it'll be at the same place as last year in Zona Río, where you'll be able to try craft beers from more than 45 breweries.

You know that big undeveloped land near Plaza Río, behind Plaza Fiesta? The head of the Expo, Rubén Valenzuela, assured that this time around they'll install flooring to keep the dirt to the minimum and just focus on the delicious beer. They expect more than 18,000 people, so this time the space will be as big as a football field. Breweries, more than 25 restaurants and food trucks will be under one big tent.

The event will also feature live music performances. An L.A. band called Hepcat, Tijuana No! and Nortec Collective's Bostich + Fussible will perform on Friday, May 27th, Jungle Fire and Kinky will perform on Saturday, May 28th.

The ticket prices will go up this year, so you're planning on purchasing advance tickets, they'll be $220 pesos each (around $12 bucks), if you buy them that day, it'll cost you $280 pesos ($16 dollars) and if you're looking to treat yo' self, VIP tickets are priced at $550 pesos (around $32 bucks). All tickets include a commemorative beer cup and three beer tastings. However, the organizers said they have another surprise planned for the event.

"One of the great things about this festival is that not everyone can participate in it. They all have to have quality beer, a big market presence and give something back to the Tijuana community so that the brewer that participates in our Craft Beer Expo creates synergy between the event and the product they are making", detailed Francisco Ussel, head of the Baja Brewers Association.
