42% of Mexicans Lack Access to the Internet

That is 46.3 million people in the country who don't have this service.

As part of Internet Day, a celebration held in several Latin American countries, Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) released a document stating that 42% of the country’s population over the age of 6 does not have access to an Internet connection, which accounts for 46.3 million Mexicans.

According to Inegi’s National Home Usage and Availability of Information Technology Poll, which utilizes data going up until June 2015, 62.4 million people six years old and over, representing 57.4% of the populace, are registered Internet users.

One notable fact is that Internet usage drops amongst older age groups; meanwhile, people in the 6-34 age group account for 73.6% of registered users, which means that Mexico’s Internet using population is mostly young.
