Tourism in Ensenada Continues to Rise

Due to a great diversity of events held in this port city, tourist affluence has greatly increased.

According to Baja California’s Ministry of Tourism, Ensenada saw a great increase in hotel occupancy this past weekend, resulting from a series of public events that attracted a great deal of visitors into the city.

Friday, May 20, the registered hotel occupancy was of 62%, going up to 92% during Saturday. Of 22 hotels, which account for over 1,400 rooms, 11 of them reported an occupancy of 100% over the weekend.

The 9th National Pétanque Open, a concert with the Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Caro, the Corre con Color Athletic Race, and the 4th Municipal Mountain Bike race, were just some of the events held in Ensenada in that period.

Next weekend, when Memorial Day is held in the U.S., a great increase in tourist affluence is also expected, with an estimated hotel occupancy of 70%.
