The Tijuana Cultural Center Presents: MGMT, the Laser Show

Starting on June 3, screenings begin at 9:00 p.m. on Fridays; 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

TIJUANA. The IMAX Dome Theater on the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) will open the MGMT Laser Show today, Friday June 3, with screenings every Friday at 9:00 p.m; 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. on weekends.

This show will allow fans of the psychedelic duo to enjoy their biggest hits, such as Congratulations, Time to Pretend, Alien Days, Weekend Wars, Of Moons Birds & Monsters, Electric Feel, Song for Dan Treacy, The Handshake, Pieces of What, Kids, and many more, accompanied by a synchronized laser show.

MGMT (previously known as The Management) formed in 2002 by Andre VanWyngarden (guitar, vocals) and Ben Goldwasser (keyboards, vocals) as a college band that stood out among independent festivals around 2004, and by 2007 managed to go big with their debut album, Oracular Spectacular, through Columbia Records.

Their success eventually earned them the BBC Radio Sound of 2008 award, their song Time to Pretend peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart; they've shared the stage with Radiohead, played Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, the Roskilde Festival, Coachella, T in the Park, Oxygen, Motorokr, Rock Werchter and Lollapalooza, to name a few.

Tickets are now available at the CECUT box office, ranging from $52.00 pesos ($2.80 USD) general entry; $31.00 pesos ($1.66 USD) for children; $33.00 ($1.77 USD) for teachers, students, and senior citizens affiliated to the INAPAM (must present valid credentials) and "Sé Turista en Baja Califorrnia" card owners; $10.50 pesos ($0.56 USD) for military, police and fire dept. personnel and their families (must present proper credentials). Group reservations get a special price by calling 687-9636 (and 37).
