Beer of the Week: The "Red Eye" Amber Ale from Public House

This week we get introduced to a light and refreshing option to have with a meal this summer.

This weekend's heat is going to remind us that summer is coming as an unstoppable force this month. It is around this time that your thirst will be better quenched with a lager, but before leaving completely behind your dark beer impulses, Public House is offering an Amber Ale this season.

Written in the board as the "Red Eye", this is one of the house's most popular beers, a malt-flavored highlight with a moderate strength that reaches caramel overtones, giving it sweetish aftertaste.

If you look carefully at the 16 amber in tone, halfway between orange and yellow, the color intensifies if you hold it against sunlight. This Amber Ale is a good choice for when you crave a strongly flavored beer without the thickness of a dark brew.

With a 6% ABV, this is the perfect beer to enjoy while you eat without it getting to your head before you finish. It goes perfectly well with the bar's classic style burger with a side of fries, says a man in a flower shirt behind the bar.

Every week, the Public House beer board changes constantly, but you can enjoy a 16oz Red Eye for 60 pesos ($3.18 USD), but if you're just tasting around, the 8oz for 35 pesos ($1.18 USD) is the better option. Just remember that the Public House runs out of its most popular beers early on weekends.
