Baja's Cuisine is Ready to Explore Mexico

Through "BAJA MEX: Baja Marida con Mexico" campaign

MEXICALI.-Francisco Vega, Governor of Baja California, and the Ministry of Tourism (SECTURE), launched a national campaign called "Baja Mex: Baja Marida con Mexico", as part of the promotion of everything that Baja has to offer in terms of food, wine, drinks and its overall cuisine.

Marketing Director of SECTURE, Shadia Wehbe Dipp, said the campaign involves a series of participations from Baja California in several fairs, exhibits and culinary events all over the country, with the main goal of strengthening the positioning of the state as one of the richest and innovative dining destinations in Mexico.

All of these events are coordinated with other states in Mexico. Guanajuato was the first in creating a "brotherhood" with Baja California during a harvest festival.

Baja California was invited to serve the gala dinner, where important personalities were present, such as Jaime Rodriguez, Governor of Nuevo Leon, Fernando Oliviera, Minister of Tourism, and Eusebio Vega, Minister of Education; as well as wine makers, entrepreneurs, artists and community in general.

Chef Mariela Manzano from "El Lugar de Nos" from Tecate, and Nancy Leon from "Chans Bistro" in Tijuana were in charge of the dinner. The menu was made with typical products of Baja California, such as mackerel, Tuna and Olive oil. All food marinated with the most emblematic craft beer of the region.

"We already agreed on more participations in places such as Guadalajara, Ciudad de Mexico, Monterrey, Bajio y Tabasco", added Wehbe Dipp.
