Here Comes the 6th Annual Baja Culinary Fest

From Oct. 27 to Oct. 30 in CECUT

TIJUANA.- The Cultural Center of Tijuana (CECUT) has been the place for enjoying of a great variety of culinary, musical, and art events for several years, so it's no wonder that the Baja Culinary Fest is going to pay tribute to "Urban Cuisine" in this facility.

Maribel Moreno, coordinator of the event, said that this celebration will happen from Oct. 27 to Oct. 30, where the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina will be the special guest, meaning that many famous Argentinian Chefs will have the opportunity to show their talent to attendees.

She also said that the mission of this edition is to put the "street" or urban flavors under the spotlight by showing how new Chef generations are reinventing food street and taking it to other dimensions, adapting it to food trucks, pop-ups and eateries, which help people learn more about the city through dishes.

"Baja California has dishes with a unique personality that are the delight of foodies; Asada, fish & shrimp tacos, octopus, duck, seafood tostadas and many variety in ceviches are some of the unimaginable food fusions of Baja."

Maribel Moreno highlighted that the Baja Culinary Fest will organize a culinary contest on Oct. 27 with only two categories: Sweet and salty. Contestants can be students or professionals with Baja cuisine influences.

Also, as part of this event, a Day of the Dead themed dinner on Oct. 28 will count with the participation of 20 different Urban food eateries with craft beer, wine, Tequila and Mezcal. Admission included in the ticket.

More than 40 Internationally very known Mexican, Argentinian, U.S. and Baja Chefs are participating, added to that, 30 lectures and workshops are going to be available for the general public for free.

On the other hand, on Oct 29 and Sunday 30, the "Expo Culinaria: Ven a Comer" (Culinary expo: Come to Eat) will take place with more than 60 stands with the best of the best of Urban Food, such as: Birria, food trucks, fish tacos, clamatos (clam juice with seafood), artisan ice cream, Asian food, wine, beer, tequila, and others will be the stars of the day.

This Baja Culinary Fest is expected to have a lot of attendees and help all regional and International chefs to reach a stable presence and a brighter future in their career.
