Mezcali: Tijuana's New House of Mezcal

From Oaxaca to the Northern Border with love

To drink mezcal -a good one- is such an experience. Since its resurgence in popularity some years ago, the spirit has been trending in lots of bars all over the country and even in the U.S., and of course, Tijuana wasn't going to be the exception.

Mezcali comes alive as a project with a wide variety of mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico. Juan Jose Quezada , Brewer Master of Mamut Brewery, decided he was going to dedicate himself to mezcal and share it with his clients.

He had experimented with this market before by putting a Mezcal bar in his craft beer bar in Downtown Tijuana; but now, the project has strengthened and has its own identity. A wider variety of Mezcal that goes from aged Espadines and Tobalás, to other type of distillates, such as Bacanora, are part of what you can try here. Every kind with its respective description of ingredients, so you can understand more about it.

According to Juan Jose, one of Mezcali's goals is to bring back the tradition of drinking mezcal and understand the drink itself and its history. The atmosphere of Mezcali is very Mexican and has a couple of paintings made by local artists, simple and assertive. Added to that, food from Mamut Brewery is also served.

This awesome new place is located in Blvd. Aguacaliente 9150, inside Milenio Plaza, click here to see the full map.
