Tourism in Baja Reaching New Heights in Global Media

"Valle de Guadalupe" is the favorite destination

MEXICALI.-The Baja California Ministry Tourism (SECTURE) is hailing its public relations efforts of putting a good word in for the state as a world-class tourist destination, specifically mentioning several major media outlets that are starting to pay attention to their work.

The Minister of Tourism, Oscar Escobedo explained that famous international media outlets, such as The New York Times, Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler, US News, and L.A. Times are starting to put Baja California under their spotlight.

These articles mostly talk about Ensenada's Jewel, the "Valle de Guadalupe", one of the favorite destinations among foreign and Mexican tourists.

For example, Tasting Table is a food website that has around 1 million visits per month, and on Oct. 14, the article "Hidden Valleys" was published and had a very good response from readers. This article is about wine routes worth visiting, and "Valle de Guadalupe" figures in the list, where Serbia, Switzerland, Australia, and South Africa are also mentioned.

Added to that, Brit + Co is a platform with more than 10 million visits per month that seeks to inspire user's creativity through their Travel section, and has also included this Wine Route as one of the 9 wonderful destinations for wine lovers in one of their articles.

El Valle de Guadalupe shares its recognition with countries such as France, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Portugal and the Napa Valley in California.

Both articles reached more than 11 million people all over the globe, with an estimated commercial value of $400,000 dlls.

"Valle de Guadalupe Wine Route has become one of the most visited destinations in recent years, with more than 600,000 visitors every year; undoubtedly, the landscape and products offer a unique experience," said Escobedo.
