TIJUANA.- There's only one week and two days until the celebration of one of the most famous traditions in Mexico, "The Day of The Dead" celebrations, and as every year, many events are organized in the city to pay homage to the loved ones who are no longer with us.
Colors, art, magic, and more, are waiting for you in any of these events:
1.- Traditional Puré´hpecha, Janitzio Monumental Offering
[/p]The Cultural Center of Tijuana will organize this already traditional offering, which according to the description in the flyer, will be in honor of all our ancestors:
"Our ancestors saw death as a road to another state of living, that's why they used to bury people with their personal objects, which after being discovered by archeologists, helped them identify their social class."

2.- Festival Calacas
[/p]This is a festival where the theater play called "Calacas" is performed, capturing the work essence of Jose Guadalupe, who represents very well the practice of this Mexican tradition. Characters will interact with the public while exhibitions of some traditional Altars of the Dead will please anyone's eyes.

3.- Catrinas and Catrines Contest
This is the 2th edition and Galerias Hipodromo will be the host of such colorful contest, where the winners of both categories will get $1,500 "galipesos" ($82.00 dlls), which is money you can only spend at the mall.

4.- El Jolgorio de las Almas (The revelry of the souls)
[/p]This multicultural festival is made of three stages: "The Procession", "The Offering" and "The Arguende" (Gossip, Party). The mission of this event is to gather "Tijuanenses" to enjoy a meeting with their beloved ones who have passed on.
At the end of that, a great party is going to mix dancing, music, theater plays, exhibitions and children workshops for you to have a great time.

6.- Noche de Mil Sabores (A Thousand Flavors Night)
[/p]The Baja Culinary Fest 2016 will include an event called "Noche de Mil Sabores", where 20 restaurants/Food Trucks, tasting stands, Urban Food, Beer, Tequila, Wine and live music will create the perfect environment to spend an unforgettable night in honour of "The Dead."
