Baja Culinary Fest is Here and You Shouldn't Miss It

It started yesterday and it will end this Sunday

TIJUANA.- This event is celebrating Mexican Traditions with all the pretty and delicious things you could imagine, and for the first time, a dinner called "Cena de Mil Sabores" (One Thousand Flavours Dinner) is being organized for foodies enjoyment.

Baja Culinary Fest is happening at the esplanade of the Cultural Center of Tijuana (CECUT) with more than 30 food stands, wine, beer, tequila, mezcal and more; also, the performance of "Los voladores de Papantla" ("Flying men of Papantla";) is one of the main attractions.

General Director of Baja Culinary Fest, Maribel Moreno, said that 20 stands of food, 10 drink stands, Street Opera and the whole cultural program will be included with the general admission ticket.

"People come and buy their ticket, they go around tasting all the food options, and they chat and sit on tables to enjoy a glass of wine, it's a very calm and informal event in which to delight yourself with lots of dishes."

This festival started Thursday 27 with a culinary contest in the Culinary Art School at 8 am, where 50 Baja chefs participated in two categories of food: Sweet and salty.

Yesterday, workshops on meat preparation were available for attendees, as well as lessons in meat cuts. Argentinian Hernan Griccini was in charge of this class.

Later on in the itinerary, two dinners made by two guest chefs were a total success, one was at Verde y Crema, and the other one at Casa Plascencia.

Today since 9:00 am lectures and workshops were given in the esplanade of CECUT, all of this starting with a coffee chat hosted by the Coffee Master of Sospeso, Alberto Song, after that, different interesting activities will start at 5:00 pm. Dinners in different restaurants will start at 7:00 pm. "La Cena de Mil Sabores" at CECUT will be ready at night.

There's still two days left, so if you happen to fancy some good food and great environment, experience the "Baja Culinary Fest" at its finest.
