Tijuana Pizza Chain and Chef Team Up for new "Baja Pizza"

This limited edition pizza is made with local products

The Mama Mia Pizza Company in Baja California is integrating a new player to their team for a limited time, and is called "Baja Pizza," which has selected ingredients from the region and is specially prepared.

Giovani Brassea, owner of HUMO (Food Trailer) was handed the task of creating this new masterpiece by experimenting with several ingredient options, until a new pizza was created and integrated to Mamma Mia's menu. "Baja Pizza" is available since yesterday (Nov.) in all the establishments.

The Ministry of State Tourism (SECTURE) supported this idea in order to enhance the culinary marvels of the region in a popular product, and what better place to do it, that in one of the most acclaimed companies in the state.

The new "Baja Pizza" has the traditional Mama Mia's dough covered in tomato & BBQ sauce, Mozzarella cheese, and two kinds of sausages specially made by HUMO.

One sausage is made of beef and pork, while the other one is made with bacon and smoked pork leg, accompanied with a bacon marmalade and a touch of cilantro.

Juan Manuel Prieto, owner of Mama Mia, said that if this new addition to the menu is a total success, they might have it permanently included.

"Baja Pizza" costs around $8.00 and it comes in one size only, a very affordable price for something with such original ingredients.

Don't miss the chance of trying it and rediscover Baja through one of the best foods in the world: Pizza.
