Rosarito Plans New Hiking Trails for Tourist (and Locals)

For all those people with adventurous souls

The head of The Ministry of Tourism (SECTURE), Óscar Escobedo, announced the creation of a new hiking trails in Rosarito, as part of a new strategy to make the municipality of Rosarito Beach a destination that offers recreational areas of all kinds, from beach spaces to parks with ecotourism activities, so the flow of visits remains constant, instead of only in seasons considered as 'high' (Easter and summer).

Meanwhile, SECTURE delegate in Rosarito, Gustavo Torres, reported that his staff is already in talks with landowners to create an orderly tourist space that meets the expectations of visitors.

"We have held different meetings with citizens around the area, and they have expressed their complete agreement to the formalization of activities. We also worked with the Municipal Institute of Planning (Implan), to design a map that shows the trails of the ecotourism route inside and outside the Rosarito Canyon, so it can be presented to landowners, and thus move to the regulation of the place," Torres explained.

The state delegate said that there are currently tour operators that offer tours in this area, in ranches and spas like 'The Grand Canyon' or 'Rincón Tropical', located in the vicinity of what will soon to be the route. Therefore, by consolidating the creation of this ecotourism area, the increase of visitors will be achieved.

As part of the tourism activities included in the project are: hiking, horse riding, observation of flora and fauna, camping, mountain biking, recreation in swimming pools and spas, and others.
