Sixty eight men and thirteen women were rescued by authorities from a field where they were being exploited.
The events happened in the Comarca Lagunera in Coahuila where officials from the Attorneys General Office had to intervene in the search In order to guarantee people's safety.
All was thanks to a day laborer who managed to escape and gave notice to the authorities. There were 81 people in irregular working conditions and in inhumane conditions on a tomato farm.
After taking the laborers to safety, authorities initiated an investigation against whomever is responsible for the exploitation of these workers.
Those affected will receive help and support in accordance to the General Law of Victims in Mexico.
