His name is Marcelo Hisaki

Marcelo Hisaki started his dream of being chef since he was 6 years old, when cuts and aromas became his passion. This tiny desire to keep learning led him to where he is now, which is working as Chef of Restaurante Amores and giving inspirational TEDx Talks about food, having a great response from everyone who listened to them.

Next February (2017), this man from Tecate will be showing his skills at the World Center of Mexico City, where he will compete against other 6 Kitchen Master Teams in the famous International Cooking contest Bocuse D’ Or Mexico 2017.

That’s right, Hisaki will be representing beautiful Baja California in this competition, he and his team need to fight to win and thus, be selected for next year’s International Contest Bocuse D’ Or Latino América 18th Edition.

The official selection will be held during Sirha Mexico from Feb. 8 to Feb. 10 of 2017, where Mexican chefs Martha Ortiz, Jorge Vallejo, and Guillermo González will be part of the jury who will pick the winner.

Undoubtedly, Marcelo Hisaki’s family, city of Tecate, and of course, himself, are very excited to see how this competition will end, so that the world can finally know what Baja California is made of.
