Non-Profit Wants to Offer Spanish Courses to Haitians in Tijuana

The courses are organized to allow full communication between Haitians and the community

The Association of Deported Mothers in Tijuana is organizing Spanish courses for foreigners who have been in the region since the beginning of the year, in order to facilitate communication with the community of Tijuana.

"There are few who speak Spanish and if they do it is a minor domain, they communicate more in French or in their native language. That is why the support of citizens is required to start with these courses," said the Coordinator of the Association, María Galleta.

Thousands of Haitians have arrived, crossed and returned to their countries, while others are still in Baja California waiting to be cared for by the US immigration authorities, however some are already considering staying permanently in the region.

These courses have no date, as the association seeks the support of people who have studies in languages and who can give these courses for free. Those who are interested can go to the offices in Plaza Viva Tijuana or call 976 7541.
