Fewer Incidents This Christmas in Baja California

The SPE received more than 8 thousand calls between Dec. 24 and 25

All kinds of accidents happened between Dec. 24 and 25: Explosions by fireworks, family violence, fires, vehicular accidents, and more; however, the Ministry of State Public Security (SSPE) said that this year’s reports decreased compared to 2016.

Baja California dialed emergency numbers on Christmas Eve (Noche Buena) and Christmas. More than 8 thousand calls that asked for assistance for different emergencies.

According to the Minister of Public Security, Daniel de la Rosa Anaya, calls for fighting cases decreased, as well as the burning of fireworks, incidents that were attended by the operation "December Seguro" (Safe December), which will continue to operate until the end of the month with the support of 1,600 security elements.

These numbers can certainly represent the growth of the region, and how the government and society itself are creating new strategies to build a safer environment.
