Baja California Gets a Spot in the International Tourism Fair in Spain

The fair will be held from Jan. 8 to Jan. 22 in Madrid, Spain

Baja California has officially earned a spot at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) to be held in Madrid, Spain from Jan. 18 to Jan. 22.

Oscar Escobedo, Head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTURE) said that one of the priorities from their participation in this fair is to carry out meetings with diverse airlines to define a direct flight to Europe.

"Today, we are a more competitive destination, the CBX acts as an added value, so airlines can see Baja California not only as an entrance to Mexico, but as a way to explore Southern United States," said Escobedo.

"It is worth mentioning that one of our main objectives during this visit to Europe is to make business appointments with operators and tourism agencies of that continent, in order to achieve the inclusion of our State in promotional packages and sales of trips," he said.

Escobedo Carignan informed that food samples will be offered with some of the most emblematic dishes of Baja California, made by Chef Miguel Angel Guerrero from renowned restaurants such as 'La Querencia', 'El Taller' and 'La Esperanza'.

In addition to this, a tasting of some of the best wines of the State (Guadalupe Valley, Santo Tomás and Tecate) will be carried out.

"We have been given the task of promoting the virtues of the entity in events of greatest reach at a national and international level. In 2016, Baja California had presence in 39 exhibitions of this type, with at least 24, 700 attendees, "concluded the state official.
