Whales, sea lions, totoabas, and dolphins are some of the marine animals left on the sand and found dead on the coasts of Baja California.
A recently reported case was about a whale that was stranded on the beach in the Camalú community, south of Ensenada.
According to Sintesis TV, when animal first got stranded at the coast it was still alive and in spite of the efforts to return it to the sea, the cetacean died during the night of Sunday.
Meanwhile in San Felipe, the Sea Shepherd Society's environmentalists are traveling more than a thousand miles in the Gulf of California as part of "Operación Milagro III" (Operation Miracle III) a collaboration with Mexican authorities to combat illegal fishing.
Sam Simon is the name of the boat where they traveling, and in the second month of this operation, the activists discovered 22 illegal fishing nets, among which were found the bodies of two sea lions, more than a dozen dolphins, and a whale that measures at least 12 meters.
