Baja California is the Third Most Employed State in Mexico

The Minister of Labor in the State said that fewer and fewer people are unemployed

According to the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (STPS), there's always work in Baja California, since in the last year it has been among the three states with the lowest unemployment rate in Mexico.

Two sectors stand out in the supply of jobs in the state: manufacturing and agriculture. The first one is located more frequently in Tijuana and the second one is usually increased in the harvest season in the valleys of San Quintín and Mexicali.

"We are in the first three states in terms of employment; in fact, we have the greatest number of opportunities that exist in Baja California, and at the moment is in the manufacturing sector, services, and also in the agricultural sector," said Juanita Pérez Floriano, Minister of the STPS.

Four years ago Baja California was in the national average on unemployment, and at the end of 2016 it increased from 5.7 to 2.29 in the unemployment rate, which placed the state among the top three places in Mexico where the number of unemployment is reduced.
