Baja California

Horses, Sea, and a Good Time Await You at Rosarito Beach

Spend part of one of your days riding horses with your loved ones

Rosarito is a small town and the youngest of Baja California, but it has a unequaled virtue, its beaches, which despite being the main magnet for tourists, offer a simple, but memorable activity: Riding horses.

When you walk along the shore you'll find many things, either deliciously prepared coconuts and clamatos (clam juice with sauces), or several people offering a well-worked braided hairstyle and ponchos, but as you approach the end of all these business you'll find rows of horses and a couple of ponies ready to walk you and your family.

The horses are young, and are part of the same family, the father and mother are there and you can choose your favorite horse. For the little ones there are ponies. You may always find two ponies called "Chocolate" and "Corazon" (Heart). The first one is black and the second cream brown.

While we think riding a horse on the beach is not very exciting, you might want to think twice, as the scenery and good company can make you feel very relaxed.

The horse business has been active for more than 30 years, that's why many people have gone through the post of horse keeper on the beach. The horses are raised on a ranch in Rosarito and are taken to the beach during peak seasons for tourists to enjoy a pleasant walk.

Spring Break is approaching and horse keepers are more than ready to welcome the horde of tourists, You can find the horses ready from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at $ 200.00 pesos the half hour (or $ 10.00 dlls), at the pier area at the near Rosarito Beach Hotel.

And if your thing is something that involves more adrenaline, you can find 4x4 bikes available in the same area to take a lap with more speed on the shore.

So if you still do not have plans on how to spend your vacation, do not forget to consider this activity.

Apart from riding on horses and motorcycles, the simple fact of living the whole experience on the beaches of Rosarito is something worthwhile, from tasting the most delicious snacks or seafood, to enjoying a moment of connection with the horizon and the Sun reflected in the salty water.
