120 Craft Breweries Await You at the Beer Fest Ensenada 2017, One Of the Largest in Mexico

Just a few days away from the great beer celebration to be held March 18

The main goal of Beer Fest Ensenada is to promote beer culture, said Paco Talamante Frías, the organizer. The 7th edition of Beer Fest Ensenada will feature the participation of 120 breweries and more than 100 styles of this artisanal drink, which is already a staple Baja California cuisine.

Talamante Frías informed that the Festival will be held in the gardens of the Riviera Cultural Center on March 18, while on March 15, 16 and 17 there will be presentations by invited speakers, experts in the subject. Local culinary creations, music, and a contest with the participation of the best of craft beer will also be part of the event.

INDUSTRY GROWTH

Talamante, who's also a craft brewer highlighted the growth of this type of drink in Baja California, a state he said is spearheading the industry in Mexico, now aiming to grow in Nuevo León, Jalisco, Colima and Mexico City.

"The idea of the festival is to enhance brewing culture, so people in Baja know there are brewers. Now we have a great variety of tasting rooms, regulations, laws... and people are following this movement," he said.

BETTER QUALITY

The owner of Cannería Cervecería also spoke about product quality, "we competed directly with San Diegan beers, at first we were trying to imitate them, and now we are competing with them, we are in the same level."

Lastly, Paco Talamante pointed out that the Ensenada Beer Fest is one of the largest events in the country, but the only one that has been preserved independently. An economic income of $450,000 dlls and 100% hotel occupancy is estimated.
