Tijuana Cultural Center to Host the First Tijuana Film & Food Festival

The call for short films closes on July 31

The Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut) will be part of the first edition of the Tijuana Film & Food Festival, offering a space to enjoy the best of culinary marvels and local cinema on Sept. 28, 29 and 30, 2017.

One of the main attractions of this festival is the Cinema Pabellón, which will be installed on the esplanade of the CECUT where people who attend can discover the food, beer and wine interesting proposals from Baja, accompanied by live music and the screening of short films and feature films .

Federico Campbell will be in charge of lectures, where directors, producers and actors of the film industry will participate. The room Carlos Monsiváis will screen the official program of the Short Film Competition of the festival.

In addition to announcing the official venue of the festival, Jorge Gutiérrez, the director of the animated film The Book of Life (2014), revealed the official poster of the event, which he designed. "I love that Tijuana is the last corner of Latin America, a place where the wave of culture collides with the United States, and the poster reflects a bit of that."
