First Case of Zika Virus Confirmed in Baja

The variant in the rains in the State has caused the campaign of fumigation is constant to fight the mosquito

Despite efforts from Baja California health authorities to eradicate the Zika-bearing mosquito in the state, the Secretary of Health, Guillermo Trejo Dozal, confirmed the first case of a contagion transmitted by the mosquito in the municipality of Ensenada, which is also the first in the state.

He commented to Uniradio that the rainy season was stronger than usual, so the fumigation strategy has had to be constant to stop mosquitoes that transmit Zika, dengue and chinkunguya.

He confirmed that the Zika mosquito is already in the region, where there has "fortunately" been only this case in Ensenada.

The infected person in Ensenada is an isolated case where the person did not travel to any other part where he could be exposed to the mosquito, which confirms the theory that the mosquito is already in the state, where the infection occurred.
