TIJUANA.- After deciding to stay in the city and not live in the United States, hundreds of Haitians have begun their residence papers in order to regulate their stay and work in the state.
Faced with this, the head of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), José Alfredo Jiménez Gálvez, points out that there are already at least 160 Haitians who are in a formal job and paying social security taxes.
These registered cases belong to Tijuana and Mexico, says Alfredo, who also says that the only requirement to get the affiliation is that they request their immigration document, as well as providing other basic data.
