Chula Vista Will Celebrate Their First "Cicla Vista" at the End of April

Residents will be able to tour their city in bicycle or on foot to reconnect with their community

CHULA VISTA.- Residents from San Diego County and some nearby cities will set aside their cars to be part of the city's first Cicla Vista, that will mark the end of grant-funded program Walk+Bike Chula Vista.

This event is totally free that aims to close a year full of activities that boost physical activity such as walking and cycling in Chula Vista. Another purpose is to close some of the main roads to avoid vehicular traffic, encouraging residents to buy in local businesses and to approach in community.

"Cicla Vista will expose the charm of downtown Chula Vista in a way that is interactive, relaxed and fun," said Andy Hanshaw, Executive Director of the San Diego Cyclists Coalition. He also stated that "people value the ability to discover the nooks and crannies that make their neighborhood special, and that you cannot see from inside the car."

The event will be held on Sunday, April 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants at this family event will be able to travel the Third Avenue from H and E to the Historic Center of Chula Vista without the concern of vehicular traffic.
