We Visited the New Collector's and Wrestling Museum in Tijuana and It Is Simply Fantastic!

Touring the halls of the newly opened museum is a journey full of nostalgia

When we learned about the recent inauguration of the Museum of the Collector and the Museum of Wrestling in Tijuana last April 29, we did not hesitate to go there and discover what objects awaits us inside.

This past weekend the admission was totally free. Photo: Ángel García / SanDiegoRed.com

The result? A fantastic trip to the past full of nostalgia, because we were able to observe popular objects that have become important pieces of collection for others, and now, the passage of the time of these objects is preserved in the showcases of the museum.

On the first day of its opening to the general public, the museum received more than 700 visits throughout the day. A great welcome party was waiting for the first visitors, in which they could enjoy wrestling exhibitions in the museum courtyard.

At the entrance we were welcomed with the first piece of exhibit, a model with a toy train running on the same floor surrounding a glass where the visitor can walk. Many hesitated to step on the glass, but it was totally safe.

The building located on the 7th street, between Avenida Revolución and Constitución Street, houses the two museums, the Museum of the Collector and the Museum of Lucha Libre.

The place has three floors; in the first, you'll see several collections ranging from objects of superheroes, to popular objects, such as different versions of tazos and objects of brands like Coca-Cola or Bimbo, to mention a few, as well as pieces from the Mexican Soccer team, among many, many, other things.

On the second floor you'll find the Lucha Libre Museum, where you can see masks, documents, photographs, action figures, and a quadrilateral staging where you can take pictures freely.

Finally, on its third floor, in addition to having a unique view of "El Foro", better known as "Jai Alai", there is a small art gallery where there is an exhibition inspired by the tickets of the different city transport.

The place has more than 6,000 pieces that adorn each space of the museum, even the less imaginable spaces, like the ceilings.

Walking between the exhibitions gives us a slap of nostalgia and we wouln't be surprised that this space becomes a tourist attraction that should not be missed in Tijuana.

If you didn't go this past weekend for free, you can visit later with an admission cost of 50 pesos or $3.00 dlls.
