High San Diego Rent Prices Translates to High Demand in Tijuana

Some of the places that most people are looking for are in Playas, The Cacho, Otay or places near the border

TIJUANA.- For several years now, San Diegans have been on the hunt for cheaper housing anywhere they can find it, without sacrificing much space. One answer has been to go north to Temecula, while the other answer has been to go south and cross the border to Tijuana. This has had the effect of generating high demand in the Mexican city, which in turn increases rental prices by up to 10%, according to the vice president of the State Council of Real Estate Professionals of Baja California, Gustavo Chacon Aubanel.

But the increasing in Tijuana are still lower to the ones seen in San Diego, thanks to plenty of supply in the form of both old and new housing.

Some of the places that most people are looking for are in Playas, The Cacho and Otay, places that are near the border. Prices vary from location and type of home, in Playas de Tijuana is between 400 and 500 dollars for apartments and houses.
