The 49th edition of Mexico's Tianguis Turístico, scheduled for 2025, represents a key opportunity for Playas de Rosarito. This international event will attract tour operators, buyers, and wholesalers from around the globe and provide a platform to showcase the region's diverse tourism offerings.


To ensure the success of Tianguis Turístico, authorities from all three levels of government, along with tourism industry members, convened at a coordination meeting held at the Baja California Center to discuss the logistics and preparations needed for the event.


Representing Playas de Rosarito City Hall, Irán Leonardo Verdugo, Managing Director of the Committee of Tourism and Conventions (COTUCO), participated in the meeting alongside Secretary of Citizen Security Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba and Director of Civil Protection and Firefighters Francisco Joaquín Mercado. During his remarks, Verdugo emphasized the significance of Tianguis Turístico for the region:


"Tianguis Turístico represents a unique opportunity to position Baja California and Playas de Rosarito as world-class tourist destinations."

Verdugo further highlighted that the event will generate significant economic benefits and increase hotel occupancy, significantly impacting the region's economy.


Additionally, he announced ongoing discussions with airport and immigration authorities to streamline entry processes into Mexico, particularly for visitors arriving from the United States.

During the meeting, Baja California's Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, was commended for consolidating Baja California as a competitive destination in national and international tourism.


The gathering included representatives from Federal SECTUR, Immigration, Customs, SEDENA, the National Guard, State Forces, and other key industry stakeholders, demonstrating a collective commitment to ensuring the event's success through interinstitutional collaboration.

Key topics addressed during the meeting included attendee mobility, staff training, and coordination with transportation and road authorities. Public security was also emphasized to ensure visitors enjoy a safe and pleasant experience.


Playas de Rosarito reaffirms its commitment and readiness to welcome thousands of visitors to Tianguis Turístico 2025, which will take place from April 28 to May 1, 2025, at the Baja California Center.
