The Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) has transformed the exterior of its iconic ball into a space for reflection and remembrance.

In a poignant tribute for International Women’s Day, the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) has transformed the exterior of its iconic ball into a space for reflection and remembrance.

A tribute, installed on the center’s main stairs, features a series of banners adorned with intricate embroidery, serving as a powerful canvas for personal expression which gives voice to women’s experiences in Mexico.

The embroidered messages delve into a range of deeply personal and societal themes, from the trauma of child sexual abuse to the fundamental right of women to make decisions about their own bodies.

Purple flowers and candles also lined the steps, creating a solemn and contemplative atmosphere to pause and reflect on the significance of the March 8th commemoration.
