Municipal authorities rescued four puppies that were being sold illegally on the street near Las Américas Boulevard, in the Lomas de Agua Caliente neighborhood, city officials said.

The dogs, believed to be pit bull puppies and approximately two months old, were recovered by inspectors from Tijuana’s Department of Inspection and Verification after a citizen report alerted authorities to the sale.

According to department director José Antonio Olivas Heredia, inspectors responded to the complaint, spoke with the person selling the animals and issued an administrative citation in accordance with local regulations.
