Coordinated efforts between Baja California state officials and federal customs authorities have led to the immediate streamlining of vehicular traffic at the El Chaparral border crossing.
Acting on the direct instructions of Governor Marina del Pilar, the state’s Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, initiated high-level discussions to address the heavy flow of vehicles arriving from California.
These efforts culminated in a collaborative agreement with Customs Administrator, Lieutenant Colonel Alejandro Segura. The outcome was the relocation of National Guard patrols, which freed up space and allowed for the activation of an additional access gate into Mexico beginning Tuesday.

This intergovernmental coordination is already yielding results by significantly reducing crossing times and directly benefits thousands of residents and visitors entering Baja California.
The state government issued a statement acknowledging the pivotal role of the customs authorities, thanking them for their commitment and willingness to collaborate.
This action is an example of the ongoing and effective coordination between the state administration and federal entities. By optimizing the entry process at El Chaparral, both levels of government are working to strengthen mobility, boost tourism, and enhance the competitiveness of the border region.
