The U.S. Consulate in Tijuana met with Tijuana’s state water utility this week to review progress on sanitation projects aimed at reducing cross-border pollution in the Tijuana–San Diego region.
According to the Consulate, officials discussed ongoing collaboration and shared commitments to address wastewater contamination that has long impacted communities on both sides of the border.

The effort is focused in part on reducing pollution in the Tijuana River, a persistent source of environmental and public health concerns in the Cali-Baja region.
