With the goal of maintaining order in public street vending and ensuring citizen safety, Tijuana’s Municipal Inspection and Verification Department carried out its annual Holy Week operation.
According to José Antonio Olivas, head of the department, keeping street vending orderly and properly permitted is a top priority for Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz.
Verification patrols targeted high-traffic zones, including street markets, city park entrances, and the popular boardwalk at Playas de Tijuana.

Patrols and Inspections
During the operation, authorities monitored street vendors’ compliance with municipal rules and regulations.
Olivas Heredia reported that inspectors visited street markets in neighborhoods such as Salvatierra, Francisco Villa, Mariano Matamoros, and Reforma, where safety and hygiene measures were reinforced to protect consumer health.
Officials also checked public spaces including Parque Morelos, Parque Esperanto, Parque de la Amistad, and Teniente Guerrero.

At these locations, inspectors confirmed that vendors had valid permits and were not blocking sidewalks, ensuring pedestrians could move freely.
These efforts are part of the Tijuana municipal government’s broader strategy to maintain order during high-traffic periods, promoting safe, clean public spaces that comply with current regulations for the benefit of the community.
