A significant cleanup operation under the “Tijuana: Clean City” program has resulted in the removal of more than 26 tons of waste from neighborhoods across the city, directly benefiting an estimated 10,700 residents.

The initiative, promoted by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, targeted areas within the La Presa Este, La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez, and Cerro Colorado delegations this past Friday.

In the El Florido neighborhood of La Presa Este, crews focused on critical infrastructure, desilting 200 linear meters of waterways. The operation there also included tree pruning and the collection of six tons of trash and debris, improving conditions for the approximately 4,500 people who transit the area daily.

In the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez delegation, the Villa Mágica park received a much-needed makeover. Workers pruned trees, cleared green waste, repaired lighting, and applied fresh striping to 80 linear meters of pathways and three road intersections.

The upgrades are set to benefit over 5,000 residents living on Paseos Villa Fontana, providing them with a renewed area for recreation and community gatherings.

The operation also tackled heavy debris in the Bugambilias neighborhood, located in the Cerro Colorado delegation, where crews collected 20 tons of bulky waste, bringing direct relief and a cleaner environment to more than 1,200 local residents.

Municipal officials, including Delegation Coordinator María Guadalupe Rubio Cucue and delegates Joaquín Sandoval Chávez (La Presa Este), Gabriela Ponce Velázquez (La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez), and Rosa García Zamarripa (Cerro Colorado), were on site to supervise the work and speak with community members.

Through these coordinated and ongoing actions, the Tijuana City Hall reaffirms its commitment to maintaining an orderly city with dignified public spaces, ultimately aiming to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
