After a week of rain and with cooler temperatures in the forecast, a Tijuana nonprofit is inviting residents to warm up for a cause.

The second annual “Tijuana con Olor a Café” festival will take over Avenida Revolución on Feb. 21 and 22, turning the city’s main tourist corridor into a coffee-centered fundraiser benefiting children with cancer.

Organizers with the civil association Gran Vida SAA announced details for the 2026 edition during a Wednesday press conference, setting a goal of selling more than 7,000 cups of coffee. Proceeds will go to the Castro Limón Foundation, which provides treatment and support for pediatric cancer patients in the region.

The two-day event will run from 10 a.m. to midnight and is expected to draw more than 20,000 attendees. In addition to dozens of coffee vendors, the festival will feature free workshops, a photo booth, a boxing exhibition and live DJ sets.

One of the more eye-catching attractions will be the “Fashion Pet Walk,” a runway-style showcase where dogs can strut in costume. More than seven civil organizations are expected to participate in a designated “Pet Zone,” promoting animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

Organizers say the festival, billed as Mexico’s largest coffee celebration, is partnering this year with Cafetón Baristi, an initiative marking its 18th anniversary. Each cup sold will directly support the fundraiser’s goal.

With thousands expected to attend, organizers say community turnout will be key to reaching the 7,000-cup target and delivering meaningful support to families facing childhood cancer.
