The Tijuana City Hall, through the Secretariat of Territorial and Urban Development (SDTU), is making significant progress on a comprehensive pothole repair program across multiple delegations. The initiative, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, aims to rehabilitate local roads and improve transit for residents.

According to municipal authorities, the recent phase of repairs has already benefited more than 27,000 citizens by addressing critical points in the city’s road infrastructure. Carlos Gastélum Félix, head of the Municipal Directorate of Public Works and Urban Infrastructure (DOIUM), stated that crews have been deployed to strategic locations with a focus on strengthening neighborhoods and heavily traveled roads.

Meanwhile, crews in the San Antonio de los Buenos delegation carried out repaving on Fundadores Boulevard near the Valle del Rubí neighborhood. The application of 100 square meters of hot asphalt mix is expected to provide up to three years of durability, positively impacting more than 6,000 residents in the vicinity.

In the Playas de Tijuana delegation, the city combined pothole repairs with the installation of speed bumps. The improvements, covering 470 square meters, were concentrated at the second access to Playas de Tijuana and along Crestón Street, as well as in the Divina Providencia neighborhood, directly benefiting approximately 1,000 people.

In the Otay Centenario delegation, repairs were carried out on De los Ángeles Avenue in the Buena Vista neighborhood. The 114-square-meter project aims to serve the more than 8,100 residents and visitors who rely on this road.

City officials emphasized that these actions are part of a broader commitment to ongoing urban maintenance. By investing in road infrastructure, the administration seeks to improve not only mobility but also the safety and overall quality of life for all Tijuana residents.
